Queries pertaining to Tata Institute of Fundamental Research and National Centre for Radio Astrophysics
CONTEXT AND QUERIES
A meeting at which I signed an MOU which I had been pressured into putting my signature on (attached) was held in NCRA Campus in Pune with NCRA-TIFR personnel and others: specifically, one former NCRA-TIFR director Govind Swarup who appeared with his wife Bina, a Vijay Jindal and Purobi Jindal of Shillong who are parents of Rakhi Jindal and Sandeep Jindal, one M Vivekanand who was then an NCRA-TIFR scientist, one Nasreen Babi, myself, and one Dhruba Jyoti Saikia also from NCRA -TIFR.
As can be seen, the MOU mentions land and a house which I had jointly bought with Dhruba Jyoti Saikia to whom I was then married. For your ready reference, NCRA had claimed that it already had a copy of the divorce decree which Dhruba Jyoti Saikia gave it and you may refer to the same document in NCRA records. I was informed at the meeting that all the papers pertaining to the property which I jointly own would be handed over to me but, till date, this has not happened despite multiple attempts being made to get the papers and assurances being given that they would be handed over. With this background in mind, kindly provide information in response to the following:
1 As absurd as the MOU is, assuming that the NCRA personnel at the meeting were not negligently and irresponsibly speaking, I assume that NCRA has or has access to the papers or at least to copies of the papers relating to the property (house and land) mentioned in the MOU. Kindly provide the same to me either in original or in photocopy. And inform me by when I can expect them.
2 Kindly inform me if NCRA - TIFR has a How to Protect Abusers Policy to deal with situations where its personnel are abusive and violent. If yes, kindly provide details of the same. If no, kindly inform me if NCRA - TIFR has any domestic violence policy at all and, if it does, kindly provide details of the same. If no, kindly explain the exact basis on which NCRA - TIFR personnel intervene and interfere in such situations. In particular, kindly inform me what the basis of NCRA involvement was in relation to the attached MOU.
